Danno’s “babe”
- so I’m watching the latest Hawaii 5-0 episode where Steve has run off on his personal mission and shit
- and so Danny pairs up with badass Chin-Ho to solve a murder and stuff
- and Danno just called Chin Ho “babe”
- so now I suppose people will tell me that hey, look, Danno uses “babe” as a term of endearment to all his friends, not just Steve
- “babe” which has heretofore only been used at Steve, and from Steve at Danny
- so here’s the thing: me an my boyfriend call each other ridiculous affectionate things, like (in translation), darling, dear and fatso (don’t ask)
- I never used to call any of my friends any of these affectionate things before I had a boyfriend (except for “fatso” which is not very nice except for when it’s my boyfriend and me)
- but now, for the times when I’m not with my boyfriend
- sometimes these affectionate nicknames just slip out when I talk to friends
- so my theory is that Danno
- feeling a bit lonely and out of his groove
- because Steve ain’t there like he usually is
- just let this “babe” slip out
- even though he’s talking to Chin-Ho and not Steve
